BIO

Born in the blues-soaked soil of Marks, Mississippi, Curtis Kincaid's journey through the world of music is a tale of passion, determination, and the pursuit of sonic excellence. At the age of five, he found himself uprooted to the vibrant city of Chicago, setting the stage for a musical odyssey that would shape his destiny.

Curtis' love affair with music ignited at the tender age of 13 when his mother presented him with an ultimatum: choose an instrument. Reflecting on that pivotal moment, he chuckles, admitting, "I chose the guitar only because my neighbor had one." Little did he know, this seemingly arbitrary decision would pave the way for a multifaceted musical career.

Devoting every free moment to his newfound love, Curtis's dedication bore fruit when, at 17, his father gifted him a four-track recording studio and a drum machine. The catalyst for his expansive musical palette came when he complained about unreliable musicians, leading to the addition of a keyboard to his arsenal. "I guess you could say I had no choice but to learn other instruments," he muses.

As Curtis honed his skills, he developed an acute sense for sound, transforming his demos into radio-worthy productions. College life didn't hinder his musical pursuits; instead, he worked part-time at a recording studio, honing his engineering and mixing skills. Frustrated by broken promises and bad deals, Curtis decided it was time for a change.

Armed with determination and vision, Curtis assembled his home recording studio, investing $10,000 of his own money to finance his debut album, aptly titled "Deep Down." Sam Chatman, a prominent Chicago DJ, hailed the album as a "Dynamic C.D.," marking Curtis' arrival as a force to be reckoned with.

Curtis Kincaid's musical journey saw him collaborate with industry heavyweights like Grammy-nominated producer The Legendary Traxster, NO ID, and Grammy award-winning producer Shekspere. His credits include playing guitar on Twista's "Wetter" and Beyonce's "Cuff it Wetter Remix," showcasing his versatility and knack for crafting hits.

Beyond the artist spotlight, Curtis has composed commercial music for political luminaries, including former President Bill Clinton and former US Ambassador Carol Moseley-Braun. His ability to capture the essence of diverse voices in his compositions has solidified his standing as a sought-after talent in the industry.

In Curtis Kincaid's world, each note is a brushstroke on the canvas of his musical journey, and every chord resonates with the authenticity of a true artist. With an unwavering commitment to controlling his destiny, Curtis continues to carve his path, leaving an indelible mark on the world of music.
